Effective date: [pending owner confirmation]
Welcome to F1 Garage Door Service and Repair LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of https://f1garagedoors.com (the "Site") and the garage door repair, installation, maintenance and emergency services we provide. By using the Site or by booking work with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site or book our services. Where a written quote or work order you receive from us conflicts with these Terms, the written quote or work order takes precedence for that job.
Scope Of Services
We repair, service, replace and install residential and commercial garage doors and the hardware that moves them. That includes torsion and extension spring replacement, opener repair and installation, cable and drum work, off-track door and roller repair, panel replacement, weather seal and insulation work, scheduled tune-ups, safety inspections and annual maintenance plans.
Work is performed by our own technicians using parts we supply, and every visit ends with the door balanced, lubricated and cycled so we can confirm it opens and closes as intended. We do not perform work outside the garage door and opener scope, and we will tell you if a fault is better handled by another trade.
Our service area covers Seattle and South King County, Washington, as published on the Site. If an address falls outside that area we will say so before any visit is booked. All work is carried out at your property: our business address is a unit in a multi-unit building and is not a walk-in location, so nothing is dropped off or collected there. Emergency dispatch is available around the clock on (206) 647-7202.
Quotes And Estimates
Quotes are prepared from the details you give us by phone, email or through the Site, including the address, the door type and a description of the fault. A quote given from a description is an estimate of the work described and the parts expected; it is not a fixed price for faults that were not visible or not mentioned at the time.
When a technician arrives, the door is inspected before work begins. If the inspection shows that the diagnosis has changed, that additional parts are needed, or that a safety component such as a cable, drum or bottom bracket is also worn, we will explain the difference and give you a revised price for your approval before continuing.
Quotes are valid for thirty days from the date issued, and parts availability and manufacturer pricing can change after that period. Verbal estimates are confirmed in writing on request so there is a clear record of what was agreed. Estimates are free, and any figure you are asked to approve is given to you in writing before work starts.
Scheduling, Access And Site Requirements
Appointments are booked within a time window that we confirm with you in advance. Because garage door work is frequently urgent, we also run emergency dispatch; if you call after hours we will give you the earliest realistic arrival time rather than a promise we cannot keep. Heavy traffic, an earlier job running long or a part that has to be collected can all move a window, and we will call you if that happens.
Please make sure the following are ready before the technician arrives, as access problems are the most common cause of a delayed or rescheduled visit:
- Clear vehicle access to the driveway or loading area nearest the door
- A clear working area on both sides of the door and inside the garage beneath the tracks
- Someone aged eighteen or over present to authorise the work, or a written authorisation and access arrangement agreed in advance
- Pets secured away from the work area for the duration of the visit
- For commercial or managed properties, any building access, parking or lobby permission arranged before the appointment
- Working power and light at the door where the repair requires it, and safe ladder placement
Payment Terms
Payment for completed repair and service work is due when the work is finished and you have had the chance to see the door operate, unless a different arrangement has been agreed in writing for a commercial or managed property account.
We accept the payment methods our technician or office confirms at the time of booking. For larger installation and replacement projects we may ask for a deposit toward materials before the order is placed; the amount and the balance due will be stated on your written quote.
If an invoice remains unpaid we may suspend warranty service and any scheduled maintenance visits until the account is settled. Returned or reversed payments may incur the charges levied on us by the payment processor, and unpaid balances may be referred for collection.
One-Year Parts And Labour Warranty
We warrant the parts we supply and the labour we perform on your garage door for one year from the date the work is completed. If a part we supplied fails because of a defect in that part, or if our workmanship is at fault, we will repair or replace it at no charge for either the part or the labour.
The warranty applies to the specific repair we performed and to the parts we installed. It does not extend to the rest of the door and opener assembly that we did not touch, and it does not restart the warranty period for unrelated components as other work is carried out.
Manufacturer warranties on doors, openers and accessories may exceed or differ from our one-year parts and labour warranty. Where that applies we will pass on the manufacturer's terms and help you make a claim, but the manufacturer's terms are theirs to determine.
To make a warranty claim, call (206) 647-7202 or email info@f1garagedoors.com with the service address and the date of the original visit. We will schedule a warranty visit and confirm the position once the failed part has been inspected.
What The Warranty Does Not Cover
The one-year parts and labour warranty covers defects in our parts and our workmanship only. It does not cover damage, failure or wear caused by anything outside our control, including:
- Accidental damage, vehicle impact, vandalism or misuse of the door or opener
- Forcing a door that is jammed, or operating a door that we have told you is unsafe to use
- Work carried out on our installation by another contractor, or parts substituted by someone else
- Power surges, lightning, water ingress, corrosion from damp or standing water, storm or wind damage and other events outside normal use
- Normal wear items such as rollers, lubricant, bulbs, batteries, remote controls and weather seals after the visit
- Failure to carry out reasonable upkeep such as keeping the door free of obstructions, addressing visible corrosion and reporting new noises or movement promptly
- Cosmetic marks that do not affect how the door operates
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Washington law, our total liability arising from any job is limited to the amount you paid us for the work that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including lost rent, lost business, loss of use of a vehicle or garage, or the cost of temporary storage or alternative parking.
The Site and its content are provided as-is. We work to keep information about services, availability and pricing accurate, but we do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error free, and any figure published on the Site is indicative until it is confirmed on a written quote.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Safety: Never Operate A Door With A Broken Spring
A garage door is a heavy moving assembly held under high tension. If a spring breaks, do not operate the door, and do not attempt to open or close it manually, with the wall button, or with a remote. A door with a failed spring can drop without warning, and the opener and its rail can be damaged or torn from the ceiling when it tries to lift a door the springs are no longer counterbalancing.
Keep children, pets and vehicles clear of the door, keep the door closed where it can safely stay closed, and call us. Springs, cables, drums and bottom brackets are under load and must only be serviced by a trained technician with the correct winding bars and containment tools. This is not a homeowner repair.
The same applies to a door that is off its tracks, a door hanging unevenly, a door with a frayed or slack cable, and any door that has come into contact with a vehicle. Do not force it. Report it and we will advise you on what to do while you wait for the technician.
Cancellation And Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule an appointment at no charge. The notice we ask for is agreed when the appointment is booked, because it depends on the type of visit: a routine tune-up can usually be moved at short notice, while an installation or a job with parts ordered specifically for your door needs more warning so the materials can be redirected.
Our dispatcher will confirm your appointment details, including the cancellation arrangement, when you book. If you need to change a visit, call us as early as you can so the slot can be offered to another customer; emergency and after-hours visits are scheduled separately from standard appointments.
We may reschedule a visit where weather, unsafe site conditions, missing parts or access problems make the work impossible or unsafe to carry out. If we have to reschedule, we will contact you with the next available time and no charge applies to you.
Website Content And Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, photographs of completed work, layout, logos and the F1 Garage Door name, belongs to us or is used with permission and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, print and share our pages for your own non-commercial use.
You may not copy our content into another website or marketing material, or present it as your own, without our prior written permission. Requests to reuse photographs or text can be sent to our office.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms as our services or legal obligations change. The version published on this page, with the effective date shown, is the current version.
The Terms that apply to a job are the ones in force on the date the work is booked. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms for future use of the Site.
Governing Law
These Terms, and any dispute arising from the Site or from work we perform, are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. The courts located in King County, Washington have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not resolved between us directly.
Before any formal step is taken, we ask that you raise the issue with us at (206) 647-7202 or info@f1garagedoors.com. Most concerns about a repair, a part or an invoice are resolved quickly once a technician has looked at the door again.
